Mantra Percussion's Necessary Noise Festival (Now in it's 4th season) is one of the largest percussion events on the east coast. The festival provides an outlet for scholastic, collegiate, and professional musicians to share their talents in a variety of mediums while promoting the art of percussion to the greater community.
Last year's festival took place in April at New Jersey City University in Jersey City, NJ and featured Mantra Youth Percussion, Mantra Percussion, NJCU Percussion Ensemble, the Juilliard Percussion Ensemble, Xylpholks, and several other college and high school ensembles.
This year's festival will take place February 4th at Rahway High School in NJ from 4-7pm and offer a different format from past festivals with a smaller scale, performance oriented schedule more in the style of a professionally produced concert.
Interested ensembles should contact Festival Director Joe Bergen for more information.
